In Psalms chapter thirty six David said, “with you is the fountain of life: in your light shall we see light”, and in chapter thirty six and verse ten of Psalms David said, “continue your lovingkindness unto them that know you” where we read,
O continue your lovingkindness unto them that know you;
and your righteousness to the upright in heart.
The verse begins, “O continue your lovingkindness unto them that know you;” David began with the words, “O continued your lovingkindness unto them” or “O seize, draw out, prolong and defer your, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness toward the people whether male or female” “that know you” or “who perceive, discriminate, distinguish and discern by experience you, Jehovah God”. David desired that Jehovah God prolong His goodness, kindness and faithfulness toward people who recognize, acknowledge and confess Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “and your righteousness to the upright in heart.” David continued with the words, “and your righteousness” or “and your, Jehovah God's, rightness, truthfulness, justification and salvation” “to the upright in heart” which means “toward people whether male or female who are straight, right, pleasing, correct and proper within their inner man, mind, will, understanding, soul, inclination, thinking, reflection and conscience”. David desired that Jehovah God's correctness and truth “continue” to be toward people who are straight, right and pleasing to God within their souls.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see David plead with Jehovah God to “continue” blessing people who “know” Him with His goodness, kindness and righteousness, and he wanted Jehovah God to prolong His correctness and truth toward people who are straight, right and pleasing to Him within their souls and minds. God wants people to have “right” thinking and “correct” ways, and He gave us the Bible and His Holy Spirit to help us live according to a manner that is pleasing to Him. God created us, gave us life and breath, provided His Son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins and is willing to give us forgiveness and eternal life when we yield to Him. His Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth, (See John 16:11) and lead us according to His ways. God loves us, and when we surrender to Him, we will be among those who “know” Him and live in an “upright” manner.
Next time David says, “let not the foot of pride come against me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
