In Psalms chapter thirty four David wrote, “What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it”, and in chapter thirty-four and verse fifteen of Psalms, David said, “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous” where we read,
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The verse begins, “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, ...” David began with the words, “The eyes of the LORD” which means “the mental and physical faculties belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “are upon the righteous” or “are toward, in the direction of and in motion toward the just, lawful and correct”. David said Jehovah God's “eyes” or mental and physical faculties are toward people who are just, lawful and correct.
The verse goes on to say, “... and his ears are open unto their cry.” David continued with the words, “and his ears are open” or “and Jehovah God's organ for hearing and receiving revelation” “unto their cry” which means “toward the hallooing and desperate pleading for help of the righteous”. David said Jehovah God perceives and receives the desperate pleading of people who are “righteous”.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God pays particular attention to people who are lawful, correct and just. His “eyes” and “ears” are toward them, and He stands ready to receive their “cries” and act upon them. God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for the sins of everyone, and when we submit ourselves to Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. Let us humble ourselves and “cry out” to Jehovah God who “sees” us and “hears” our plea because He has made us “righteous” through the blood of His Son Jesus. (See 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Next time David says, “The face of the LORD is against them that do evil”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
