The LORD Redeems the Soul - Psalms 34:22

In Psalms chapter thirty four David wrote, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate”, and in chapter thirty-four and verse twenty-two of Psalms, David said, “The LORD redeems the soul of his servants” where we read,

The LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

The verse begins, The LORD redeems the soul of his servants:” David began with the words, “The LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “redeems the soul” or “ransoms, rescues and delivers the inner man, life, mind, appetite, living being, desire, emotion and passion” “of his servants” which means “belonging to his, Jehovah God's, slaves, subjects, bondmen and worshipers”. David said Jehovah God ransoms and delivers the inner man and being of his bondmen and worshipers.

The verse continues, and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. David added the words, “and none of them” or “and not one of the servants of Jehovah God” “that trust in him” which means “who seek refuge, flee for protection, confide and hope in Jehovah God” “shall be desolate” or “will exist as wrong, guilty or incriminated”. David said not a single one of the people who put their faith and hope in Jehovah God will exist as guilty and wrong.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David declared the redemption of people who “serve” Jehovah God. He shared how people who put their faith, hope and confidence within Jehovah will not exist as guilty and wrong. God loves people, and when they turn their hearts to Him through His Son Jesus, He will forgive their sins, grant them everlasting life and cleanse them from all guilt and wrong. When we yield to Jesus, we will be “redeemed”, and we will “serve” Him throughout eternity as we put their faith and hope in Him.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, Plead my cause, O LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
