Our Heart Shall Rejoice in Him - Psalms 33:21

In Psalms chapter thirty three David wrote, “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield”, and in chapter thirty three and verse twenty-one of Psalms David wrote, “our heart shall rejoice in him” where we read,

For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

The verse begins, For our heart shall rejoice in him, ... David began with the words, “For our heart” which means “because, since and on account that the inner man, mind, will, understanding, thinking, reflection, memory, conscience and seat of appetites, emotions and passions of our, David and his fellow believers” “shall rejoice in him” or “will be glad, exult, gleesome and merry within Jehovah God”. David said the souls and minds of he and his fellow believers would be glad and merry with Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,... because we have trusted in his holy name. David continued with the words, “because we have trusted” or “since and on account that we, David and his fellow believers, were confident, bold and secure” “in his holy name” which means “within Jehovah God's sacred, set apart and consecrated reputation, fame and glory”. David said the reason he and his fellow believers would be merry and glad in Jehovah God was on account that they put their confidence and security in His reputation, fame and glory.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how the soul of David and his fellow believers were gleesome and merry because they trusted Jehovah God. They were confident that the reputation, fame and glory of God was worthy of their trust, and because they relied upon Him, they were blessed. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of every person, and when we put our faith and trust in Him, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with Him. We too shall “rejoice” because we have “trusted” in His reputation, fame and glory as we live with Him forever.

Next time David says, Let your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
