Our Soul Waits for the LORD - Psalms 33:20

In Psalms chapter thirty three David wrote, “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine”, and in chapter thirty three and verse twenty of Psalms David wrote, “Our soul waits for the LORD” where we read,

Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

The verse begins, Our soul waits for the LORD: David began with the words, “Our soul” which means “the inner man, life, self, appetite, mind, being, passions and emotions of David and those who were believers with him” “waits for the LORD” or “awaits, tarries and longs for Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said he and his fellow believers tarried and longed for Jehovah God.

The verse continues,he is our help and our shield. David added the words, “he is our help” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as David and his fellow believers' succorer and aid giver” “and our shield” which means “and David and his fellow believers' buckler or protector”. David wrote how Jehovah God was he and his fellow believers' provision and protection.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David and his fellow believers knew to “tarry and long for” Jehovah God because He was their protection and provision for whatever they needed. God loves to care for people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for their sins so they could be forgiven and live with Him forever. God will grant His provision and protection to anyone who yields themselves to Jesus, and we shall spend all eternity giving Jehovah God praise and glory for His gifts unto men.

Next time David says, our heart shall rejoice in him, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
