In the book of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief comes in, and the troop of robbers spoils without. And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face”, and in chapter seven and verse three of Hosea, Hosea shared how Jehovah God said, “they make the king glad with their wickedness” where we read,
They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
The verse begins, “they make the king glad with their wickedness, ...” Hosea began with the words, “they make the king glad or “they, the people of Ephraim and Samaria, cause the royal ruler and leader to rejoice, be cheered up and joyful” “with their wickedness” which means “by the use of their, Ephraim and Samaria's, bad, disagreeableness, displeasure, unkindness and evil”. Hosea shared how the people of Ephraim and Samaria brought pleasure to their royal ruler by the use of their evil practices and deeds.
The verse goes on to say, “... and the princes with their lies.” Hosea continued with the words, “and the princes” or “and the youthful leaders, chieftains, officials, nobles, vassals, commanders and captains” “with their lies” which means “by the use of their, the people of Ephraim and Samaria's, deceptions, leanness and failure”. Hosea shared how Jehovah God said the young leaders in Ephraim and Samaria also were made joyful by their deceptive practices.
When we consider Hosea's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God knew the people of “Ephraim and Samaria”made their royal rulers and youthful leaders to rejoice and be cheerful with their evil deeds and deceptions. We can imagine how this depth of sinful behavior was very displeasing to God, and the same can be said for people today. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us away from the “wicked and evil” practices of people who make their “leaders” pleased with their pernicious deeds.
Next time Hosea say, “they are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
