In Psalms chapter eighteen David wrote about Jehovah God, “You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; and you have made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me”, and in chapter eighteen and verse forty-five of Psalms David said, “the strangers shall fade away” where we read,
The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
The verse begins, “The strangers shall fade away, ...” David began with the words, “the strangers” which means “the aliens, foreigners and heathendom” “shall fade away” or “will be made senseless, foolish and treated with contempt”. David said the “heathen foreigners” would be made foolish and senseless.
The verse goes on to say, “... and be afraid out of their close places.” David continued with the words, “and be afraid” or “and exist as shaken, trembling and dismayed” “out of their close places” which means “from the strangers' borders, fastness and rim”. David wrote how the people from the foreign nations would be dismayed and tremble from their borders.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew the heathen foreigners would be made senseless and foolish as they were trembling within their own boarders. In other words, David's intimidating presence adversely affected the foreigners around him. Jehovah God provided him with this power, and David acknowledge and blessed the LORD for doing so. God desires to make all people His children, (See John 1:12) and they become His family as they yield themselves to His Son Jesus. When we believe in Jesus, He will forgive us for our sins, grant us everlasting life and be elevated by Jehovah God to positions of authority and influence according to His perfect will and plan as we submit to Him.
Next time David says, “The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
