In Psalms chapter eighteen David wrote about Jehovah God, “You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; and you have made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places”, and in chapter eighteen and verse forty-six of Psalms David said, “The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock” where we read,
The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
The verse begins, “The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock;” David began with the words, “the LORD lives” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God is alive, active and lively”; “and blessed” or “and adored, praised and saluted” “be my rock” which means “be my, David's, block of stone or boulder of refuge and strength”. David declared that Jehovah God is lively and active and exists as his boulder of refuge and strength.
The verse continues, “and let the God of my salvation be exalted.” David added the words, “and let the God” or “and allow and permit the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “of my salvation” which means “belonging to my, David's, rescue, deliverance and liberation” “be exalted” or “be raised, set on high, uplifted and extolled”. David desired that Jehovah God, his Supreme God who was responsible for his deliverance, rescue and liberation, be extolled and uplifted.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we noticed how David burst out in praise to Jehovah God. He declared that God is alive, adored and praised and was his refuge, strength, rescuer and deliverer. David loved Jehovah God, and he knew God blessed him and gave him protection and provision in his life. God desires to do the same for every person who will come to Him through His Son Jesus. Jesus came to the earth, died on the cross and rose again the third day afterward so people could be in an intimate relationship with Jehovah God. When we yield our lives to Him, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life, and we shall spend all eternity giving Him praise, honor and glory for being our life, rock and salvation.
Next time David says, “It is God that avenges me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
