God Shooting with an Arrow - Psalms 64:7

In Psalms chapter sixty-four David said, “Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity … They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep”, and in chapter sixty-four and verse seven Psalms David said, “God shall shoot at them with an arrow” where we read,

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

The verse begins, But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; David began with the words, “But God” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “shall shoot at them” which means “will cast and project toward them, the workers of iniquity” “with an arrow” or “by the use of a sharpened spear, dart or shaft”. David shared how the Divine judge Jehovah God would project sharpened spears or darts at the workers of iniquity.

The verse goes on to say, suddenly shall they be wounded. David continued with the word, “suddenly” or “surprisingly and instantly” “shall they be wounded” which means “will they, the workers of iniquity, be wounded, slaughtered, beat and scourged”. David said the workers of iniquity would instantly be wounded, beat and scourged.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David knew the Divine judge Jehovah God would be on the offensive against the workers of iniquity, and the result would be that they would be wounded and slaughtered because of Him. God can easily manage those who have wicked thoughts and commit evil deeds, and when He takes action, they will be easily afflicted and slaughtered. God wants to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so they would no longer be separated from Him. When we surrender to Him, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and trust Him to commit the offensive against the workers of iniquity.

Next time David says, “they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
