The Hill of God - Psalms 68:15

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse fifteen of Psalms David said, “the hill of God is as the hill of Bashan” where we read,

The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

The verse begins, The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; David began with the words, “the hill of God” or “the mountain belonging to the Divine judge Jehovah God” “is as the hill of Bashan” which means “exists in likeness to the mountain belonging to Bashan whose name means fruitful and was a district east of the Jordan known for its fertility which was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh”. David said the mountain of the Divine judge Jehovah God exists in likeness to the mountain within the district named “Bashan” which was east of the Jordan.

The verse goes on to say,an high hill as the hill of Bashan. David continued with the words, “an high hill” or “a peak, rounded summit or mountain peak” “as the hill of Bashan” which means like unto the mountain belonging to Bashan whose name means fruitful and was a district east of the Jordan known for its fertility which was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh”. David added that God's “hill” was likened to the “rounded summit or peak” of the mountain in “Bashan”.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David exalted the high mountain of Jehovah God. God is above all other exalted places in the world, and because His power and authority is greater than any other, He is able to observe and conquer any opposition to Him. God loves people, and He knew there was a separation between Him and people because of the sin in their lives. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (See Romans 6:23), and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let all who read and consider David's words discover God's omnipotence and receive His Son Jesus today.

Next time David asks, “why leap you, you high hills?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
