The Presence of God - Psalms 68:8

In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “O God, when you went forth before your people, when you did march through the wilderness; Selah”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse eight of Psalms David said, “the earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God” where we read,

The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God:

even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

The verse begins, The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: David began with the words, “the earth shook” or “the ground, territory, region and world quaked, moved and tottered”, “the heavens also dropped” which means “the sky, atmosphere and region beyond the celestial bodies even so and indeed dripped or poured down rain” “at the presence of God” or “in the face and countenance belonging to the Divine judge Jehovah God”. David said the entire world quaked and the skies poured out rain when the countenance and face of Jehovah God appeared.

The verse continues, even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. David added the words, “even Sinai itself” or “including Sinai, whose name means thorny and was the mountain where Moses received the Law from Jehovah; located at the southern end of the Sinai peninsula between the horns of the Red Sea; exact site unknown, it's own self” “was moved” which means “shook, trembled and tottered” “at the presence of God” or “in the face and countenance belonging to the Divine judge Jehovah God”, “the God of Israel” which means “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and was the name of the descendants and nation of the descendants of Jacob”. David said even the mountain called “Sinai” trembled at Jehovah God's “presence”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how the world tottered and shook at God's presence, and even Mount Sinai was moved by Him. God is the Creator of the Universe, and all the earth quaked when He came on the scene. This Almighty God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the world because He loves us. When we put our faith and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be moved and in awe of His “presence” at all times.

Next time David says, “You, O God, did send a plentiful rain”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
