To the LORD Belongs Mercy - Psalms 62:12

In Psalms chapter sixty-two David said, “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God”, and in chapter sixty-two and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “Also unto you, O Lord, belongs mercy” where we read,

Also unto you, O Lord, belongs mercy: for you render to every man according to his work.

The verse begins, Also unto you, O Lord, belongs mercy: David began with the words, “Also unto you” or “even so and indeed to you, Divine judge Jehovah God”, “O Lord” which means “O Adonay or reverent master”, “belongs mercy” or “lies and exists goodness, kindness and faithfulness”. David certified that goodness, kindness and faithfulness existed within the Divine judge Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,for you render to every man according to his work. David continued with the words, for you renderor “because, since and on account that you, Divine judge Jehovah God, make peace, completeness and soundness” “to every man” which means “toward each, every, the whole and everyone of the people both male and female” “according to his work” or “toward their deeds, acts, labors, undertakings and pursuits”. David said Jehovah God possessed “mercy” to make complete and sound the acts and deeds of each and every person.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David attributed goodness, faithfulness and kindness to Jehovah God who will examine the works and deeds of every person. (See Revelation 20:12) God knows the spiritual state of everyone, and because sin separates people from God, He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for the sins of all mankind. When we submit ourselves to Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:9) Then when we stand before God, Jesus will have paid the penalty for our sins, and we shall be given the right and permission to live with Him forever. ( See Matthew 25:20-30)

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “O God, you are my God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
