Soul Wait Only Upon God - Psalms 62:5

In Psalms chapter sixty-two David asked, “How long will you imagine mischief against a man? you shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall you be, and as a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah”, and in chapter sixty-two and verse five of Psalms David said, “My soul, wait you only upon God” where we read,

My soul, wait you only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

The verse begins, My soul, wait you only upon God; David began with the words, “My soul” or “my, David's, life, appetite, living being, desire and seat of emotions and passions”, “wait you only” which means “be silent, still and made quiet you, David himself, indeed, surely, truly and solely” “upon God” or “on the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David told his mind and heart to be silent and still toward the Divine judge Jehovah God.

The verse continues, for my expectation is from him. David added the words, for my expectationor “because, since and on account that my, David's, cord, hope and thing longed for” “is from him” which means “exists separate and apart from the Divine judge Jehovah God”. David declared that his hope was within the Divine judge Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David put his faith and trust in the Divine judge Jehovah God, and because of his relationship with him, David put his hope in Him as well. God loved David, and David loved God. This is the type of relationship that God desires with everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross to pay the price for the sins of all mankind so they could relate to Him. When we submit ourselves to Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and learn to put our hope and expectation in Him for anything or anyone who comes against us.

Next time David says, “He only is my rock and my salvation”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
