Jehovah God Holds Our Soul in Life - Psalms 66:9

In Psalms chapter sixty-six David said, “O bless our God, you people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard”, and in chapter sixty-six and verse nine of Psalms David shared how Jehovah, “holds our soul in life” where we read,

Which holds our soul in life, and suffers not our feet to be moved.

The verse begins, Which holds our soul in life, ... David began with the words, “which holds” or “who puts, places, sets and appoints” “our soul in life” which means “our, David and his countrymen's, heart, mind, will, appetite, living being, desires and seat of emotions and passions while living and being active”. David said Jehovah God sets and appoints our hearts and minds while living.

The verse continues,... and suffers not our feet to be moved. David added the words, “and suffers not” or “and does not allow” “our feet to be moved” which means “our, David and his countrymen's, physical feet or journey to shake, totter or waver”. David said Jehovah God did not allow he and his countrymen's mental and physical faculties to waver or totter.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God sets and appoints our hearts and minds while we are living, and he does not allow our mental and spiritual faculties to totter and waver. God desires to have an intimate personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus, and when we submit to him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. God will keep watch over our “souls” and protect us from wavering back and forth as we relate to Him, and we shall give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity for His wonderful provision for us.

Next time David shares how Jehovah, “has proved us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
