How Great is Jehovah's Goodness - Psalms 31:19

In Psalms chapter thirty one David said, “Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous”, and in chapter thirty one and verse nineteen of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, “Oh how great is your goodness” where we read,

Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you;

which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men!

The verse begins, Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you;” David began with the words, “Oh how great” which means “O so numerous, abundant and abounding” “is your goodness” or “exists your, Jehovah God's, beauty, prosperity and welfare”, “which you have laid up” which means “that you, Jehovah God, have treasured, stored up and hidden from discovery” “for them that fear you” or “on behalf of the people who are reverent and afraid of you, Jehovah God”. David wrote about Jehovah God's abundant beauty and prosperity that He has in store for people who revere Him.

The verse continues,which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men! David added the words, “which you have wrought” or “that you, Jehovah God, have made, ordained and committed” “for them that trust in you” which means “on behalf of the people who have confidence, believe and rely upon you, Jehovah God” “before the sons of men” or “in front and in the presence and sight of the male offspring and progeny belonging to people both male and female ”! David emphatically shared how Jehovah God ordained and committed His “goodness” to the offspring of people who believe in, rely upon and cling to Him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through David that Jehovah God preserved His abundant “goodness” for the people who revere, have confidence in and rely upon Him. Even the offspring of those who believe in Him will benefit from God's blessings, and when we come to Him through His Son Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless us in our daily lives. We have a wonderful opportunity to gain access to the “goodness”, kindness and favor of Jehovah God when we surrender our lives to His Son Jesus.

Next time David says to Jehovah God, You shall hide them in the secret of your presence, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
