Abiding in God's Tabernacle - Psalms 61:4

In Psalms chapter sixty-one David said of Jehovah God, “you have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy”, and in chapter sixty-one and verse four of Psalms David said, “I will abide in your tabernacle for ever” where we read,

I will abide in your tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of your wings. Selah.

The verse begins, I will abide in your tabernacle for ever: David began with the words, “I will abide” or “I, David, shall sojourn, dwell, remain and be an inhabitant” “in your tabernacle” which means “within your, Divine judge Jehovah God's, tent, dwelling place, home and habitation” “for ever” or “for long duration, antiquity, futurity, perpetually and evermore”. David said he would dwell and remain in Jehovah God's habitation unto perpetuity and evermore.

The verse goes on to say,I will trust in the covert of your wings. Selah. David continued with the words, I will trustor “I, David, shall seek refuge, flee for protection and confide and hope” “in the covert” which means “within the covering, shelter, secrecy and hiding place” “of your wings” or “belonging to your, Jehovah God's, extremity, edge, border and corner”. “Selah” which means “exalt, lift up and pause to meditate upon it”. David said he would put his faith and confidence within the covering and shelter of Jehovah God's borders, and anyone reading and listening to his words should pause and meditate upon this idea.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David determined to dwell in Jehovah God's “tabernacle” of safety perpetually, and he would place his confidence within God's covering. God wants people to have faith in Him, and He gave His Son Jesus to be the “appeasing sacrifice” for the sins of all mankind. (See 1 John 2:2; 4:10) When we submit ourselves to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and become our shelter and covering for anything that arises against us. Let us pause and meditate upon this idea.

Next time David says, “you, O God, have heard my vows”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
