A God Full of Compassion - Psalms 86:15

In Psalms chapter eighty six David said, “O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set you before them”, and in chapter eighty six and verse fifteen of Psalms David said, “You, O Lord , are a God full of compassion” where we read,

But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion,

and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

The verse begins, But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, ... David began with the words, “But you” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover you, Jehovah God”, “O Lord” which means “O Adonay or reverent master”, “are a God” or “exist as a Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “full of compassion” which means “complete with love, pity and mercy”. David referred to the absolute love and mercy of the Divine judge Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,... and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. David continued with the words, “and gracious” or “and merciful and benignant”, “long-suffering” which means “patient and slow to anger”, “and plenteous in mercy” or “and great, abounding and more numerous in goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “and truth” which means “and firmness, sureness, reliability, stability and continuance”. David shared how Jehovah God is also merciful, patient and abounding in goodness and kindness.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David contrasted the qualities of Jehovah God to the proud people who violently gathered themselves together against him. God is filled with pity and love, and He is merciful, patient and abounding in goodness and faithfulness. God loves people, and He desires to live with them forever in Heaven. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and reveal Himself and His attributes to us for all eternity.

Next time David says, “O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
