Lovingkindness Declared in the Grave? - Psalms 88:11

In Psalms chapter eighty eight the Psalmist asked Jehovah God, “Will you show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise you? Selah”, and in chapter eighty eight and verse eleven of Psalms the Psalmist asked, “Shall your lovingkindness be declared in the grave?” where we read,

Shall your lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or your faithfulness in destruction?

The verse begins, Shall your lovingkindness be declared in the grave? The Psalmist began with the words, “shall your lovingkindness” or “will your, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “be declared” which means “be recounted, related, taken account of, reckoned and numbered” “in the grave” or “within the sepulcher, burying place or tomb”? The Psalmist asked whether the goodness, kindness and faithfulness of Jehovah God would be reckoned and accounted for within the tomb.

The verse goes on to say,or your faithfulness in destruction? The Psalmist continued with the words, “or your faithfulness” or “or your, Jehovah God's, firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, security and faith” “in destruction” which means “within Hades, Abaddon, perishing and ruin ”? The Psalmist wondered whether Jehovah God's fidelity and steadfastness would be declared within Hades or the place of perishing and ruin.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist questioned whether Jehovah God's goodness and faithfulness would be proclaimed within the tomb or if His fidelity would be declared within Hades or the place of ruin. The Psalmist felt like he was going to die, and he wondered how God would be promoted from the tomb if he did. It is true that,it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (See Hebrews 9:27), and every person will die and stand before God and be judged. God knows this, and He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind to intercede on their behalf. This gives every person an opportunity to receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, and when we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and continue to offer others the opportunity to receive Jesus and live with Him forever.

Next time the Psalmist asks, “Shall your wonders be known in the dark?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
