Mercy Built Up Forever - Psalms 89:2

In Psalms eighty nine Ethan the Psalmist said, “I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations”, and in chapter eighty nine and verse two of Psalms Ethan said, “Mercy shall be built up for ever” where we read,

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever:

your faithfulness shall you establish in the very heavens.

The verse begins, For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: Ethan began with the words, “for I have said” or “because, since and on account that I, Ethan, have uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “Mercy shall be built up” which means “goodness, kindness and faithfulness will established and caused to continue” “for ever” or “for long duration, perpetually, everlasting and unto perpetuity”. Ethan declared the goodness, kindness and faithfulness of Jehovah God to be established perpetually.

The verse continues, your faithfulness shall you establish in the very heavens.Ethan added the words, “your faithfulness” or “your, Jehovah God's, firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness and truth” “shall you establish” which means “will you, Jehovah God, set up, make stable, fixed and securely determined” “in the very heavens” or “within the abode in the sky, atmosphere and visible universe”. Ethan said the steadfastness and truth of Jehovah God would be fixed and securely determined within the visible universe and abode of Him.

When we meditate upon words in this verse, we see how Ethan magnified the “mercy” and “faithfulness” of Jehovah God. God wants people to experience His “mercy”, and He desires to share His “truth” with all who will receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. God sent Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and extend to us His “mercy” and “faithfulness” forever and ever.

Next time Ethan shares how Jehovah God says, “I have made a covenant with my chosen”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
