God's Foundation in the Holy Mountains - Psalms 87:1

Psalms chapter eighty seven begins with heading, “[[A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.]]” which breaks down “A Psalm” or “a poem or melody set to notes” “or Song” which means “or lyrical musical ode” “for the sons of Korah” or “on behalf of the children, grandchildren or offspring belonging to Korah whose name means bald and was from the tribe of Levi”, and in chapter eighty seven and verse one of Psalms the Psalmist said, “His foundation is in the holy mountains” where we read,

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

The verse begins, His foundation ... The Psalmist began with the words, “His foundation” or “His, Jehovah God's, founding city”. The Psalmist referred to the “founding city” of Jehovah God.

The verse continues,... is in the holy mountains. The Psalmist added the words, “is in” or “exists and is located within” “the holy mountains” which means “the sacred, hallowed, consecrated and dedicated rising above the plain or hill country”. The Psalmist said the founding city of Jehovah God exists within the sacred hills.

When we meditate upon words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist declared Jehovah God's founding city Jerusalem to be located within the sacred hill country. God established Himself among the people of Israel because He loves to relate to all people. He wants to have a personal intimate relationship with every person who will believe and trust in His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and establish Himself among us.

Next time the Psalmist says, “The LORD loves the gates of Zion”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
