In the book of Nehemiah, Nehemiah speaking of the “sealing” of the “sure covenant” the people of Israel made with Jehovah God said, “Now those that sealed were, Nehemiah, the Tirshatha” and others including, “the priests, and the Levites, and their brethren” which included, “Hodijah, Hashum, Bezai, Hariph, Anathoth, Nebai, Magpiash, Meshullam and Hezir”, and in chapter ten and verse twenty-one of Nehemiah, Nehemiah named, “Meshezabeel, Zadok and Jaddua ...” where we read,
Meshezabeel, Zadok, Jaddua
The verse reads, “Meshezabeel, Zadok, Jaddua ...” Nehemiah began with the word, “Meshezabeel” whose name means “God delivers”, “Zadok” or “righteous”, “Jaddua” whose name means “knowing”. Nehemiah shared how the fellow Levites known as, “God delivers, righteous and knowing” were among the men of Israel who “sealed” the “sure covenant” with Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover through Nehemiah how, “Meshezabeel, Zadok and Jaddua” also signed the agreement with God, and their names reveal the very nature of God. “God delivers” every person who believes and trusts in His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and He raised Him three days later because He is a “righteous” God. He “knows” or is “knowing” about everything and everyone, and yet, when we receive His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and include us in His eternal Kingdom forever and ever.
