In Psalms chapter thirty eight David said, “Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me”, and in chapter thirty eight and verse twenty-two of Psalms David said, “make haste to help me” where we read,
Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
The verse begins, “Make haste to help me, ...” David began with the words, “Make haste” or “hurry, be eager with excitement and ready” “to help me” which means “to succor, aid and assist me, David”. David appealed to Jehovah God to hurry and assist him.
The verse continues, “... O Lord my salvation.” David added the words, “O Lord” or “O Adonay or reverent master” “my salvation” which means “my, David's, deliverer, safety and victory”. David appealed to his “reverent master” who he considered to be his deliverer and safety.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David desired that Jehovah God hurry without delay to “help” him, and he appealed to Him as his “deliverer” and One who gives victory. God wants to have a personal intimate relationship with every person, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Anyone who yields to Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. We too desire that Jehovah God will “make haste” when we are in need of “help”, and He is ready to respond on our behalf when we have surrendered our life to Him.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David says, “I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
