In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. He that says unto the wicked, You are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him”, and in chapter twenty-four and verse twenty-five of Proverbs Solomon said, “to them that rebuke him shall be delight” where we read,
But to them that rebuke him shall be delight,
and a good blessing shall come upon them.
The verse begins, “But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, ...” Solomon began with the words, “but to them that rebuke him” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover to the people whether male or female who convict, reprove and reprimand the wicked person” “shall be delight” which means “will exist as beautiful, pleasant and sweet”. Solomon said the people who convict and reprimand the wicked will exist as beautiful and pleasant.
The verse continues, “... and a good blessing shall come upon them.” Solomon added the words, “and a good blessing” or “and a pleasant, agreeable, excellent and valuable benediction and prosperity” “shall come upon them” which means “will be enumerated, gathered and put on them, the people who convict and reprimand the wicked person”. Solomon said pleasant and valuable prosperity would be put upon the person who judges and reproves the wicked.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how there is a reward for people who reprove those who are evil and hostile to God. When “good” judgment is made, “blessings” will be the result. God wants to bless us, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind because He desires to live eternally with us. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us through His Holy Spirit how to reprove and reprimand people who are “wicked” when we are in authority to do so.
Next time Solomon shares about, “lips that give a right answer”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
