In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “He that hates dissembles with his lips, and lays up deceit within them. When he speaks fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart”, and in chapter twenty-six and verse twenty-six of Proverbs Solomon shared about, “whose hatred is covered by deceit” where we read,
Whose hatred is covered by deceit,
his wickedness shall be showed before the whole congregation.
The verse begins, “Whose hatred is covered by deceit, ...” Solomon began with the words, “whose hatred” or “and the person's exceedingly odious manner” “is covered by deceit” which means “exists as concealed, hidden and made secret through the means of guile, dissimulation and cunningness”. Solomon said the person who “hates and lies” conceals their “odious behavior” through the means of lying and cunning ways.
The verse goes on to say, “... his wickedness shall be showed before the whole congregation.” Solomon continued with the words, “his wickedness” or “his, the person who hates and lies', bad, evil, malignancy, displeasing and misery” “shall be showed” which means “will be revealed, uncovered, exposed and made known” “before the whole congregation” or “in the front, presence and countenance of all, the totality and entirety of the assembly, convocation and multitude”. Solomon said the misery and malignancy of the person who is deceptive and hates will be exposed in front of the entire congregation of people.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how the person who is odious and lies conceals their manner of living through deception, however, their evil ways shall be exposed to everyone. Jesus said, “there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known” (See Matthew 10:26; Luke 12:2), and every sin in our lives is known by God. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cleanse us from all unrighteous to live eternally cleansed before Him.
Next time Solomon says, “whosoever digs a pit shall fall therein”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
