God Rewards the Fool and the Transgressor - Proverbs 26:10

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “As a thorn goes up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools”, and in chapter twenty-six and verse ten of Proverbs Solomon said, “the great God that formed all things rewards” where we read,

The great God that formed all things both rewards the fool,

and rewards transgressors.

The verse begins, The great God that formed all things both rewards the fool, ... Solomon began with the words, “the great God” or “the mighty, abounding, numerous and strong Divine One” “that formed all things” which means “who twisted, whirled, writhed and brought forth each, every, the whole and everything” “both rewards the fool” or “gives his hire and wage to the arrogant dullard, simpleton and foolish person whether male and female” along with the following. Solomon said the mighty and strong Divine One who fashioned and brought forth everything that is made gives wages to people who are arrogant simpletons.

The verse continues, “... and rewards transgressors. Solomon added the words, “and rewards” or “and gives hire and wage to” “transgressors” which means “people who pass by and are indiscriminate”. Solomon said the Divine One also gives wages to people who are discriminate.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how God Himself will recompense people who are foolish and indiscriminate. His desire is to save every person, however, should they refuse and reject a personal relationship with His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, they will be “rewarded” for their evil behavior and attitudes. God loves us, and when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and show us the value of never acting as the foolish nor the “transgressors” who manifest their ways in the world.

Next time Solomon says, “a fool returns to his folly”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
