God's Glory Concealing a Thing - Proverbs 25:2

In the book of Proverbs the writer said, “These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out, and in chapter twenty-five and verse two of Proverbs Solomon said, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing” where we read,

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing:

but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

The verse begins, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: Solomon began with the words, “it is the glory of God” or “it exists as the honor, splendor and riches belonging to the Divine and True One” “to conceal a thing” which means “to hide, keep close and secret a speech, utterance, act, matter or case”. Solomon declared that it exists as the One True God's prerogative to hide and keep secret an utterance or act.

The verse goes on to say, “but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” Solomon continued with the words, “but the honor of kings” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the splendor and riches belonging to royal rulers and leaders” “is to search out” which means “is to examine, investigate, seek and thoroughly find out” “a matter”or “an utterance, word, act, case, business or occupation”. Solomon said the splendor of royal rulers is to thoroughly examine and investigate a case, utterance or occupation.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon knew that Jehovah God keeps some things secret, however, He makes those words, acts and deeds available to royal rulers who seek them out. God wants us to seek, ask and knock for the unrevealed, (See Matthew 7:7) and when we diligently search the scriptures as Jesus said, (See John 5:39) we shall discover that He was sent into the world to die on the cross for our sins. God wants us to believe and trust in His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, and then He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the passion to discover all He has for us that He has “concealed”.

Next time Solomon shares about that which is, “unsearchable”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
