My Times are in Your Hand - Psalms 31:15

In Psalms chapter thirty one David said, “I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life. But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God”, and in chapter thirty one and verse fifteen of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, “My Times are in your hand”, where we read,

My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me.

The verse begins, My times are in your hand:” David began with the words, “My times” which means “My, David's, experiences, fortunes, occurrences and occasions” “are in your hand” or “exist within your, Jehovah God's, strength, power, part and portion”. David proclaimed that his experiences and occurrences exist within Jehovah God's power and portion.

The verse continues, deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me. David added the words, “deliver me” or “rescue, recover, tear, snatch me, David, away” “from the hand of my enemies” which means “ apart and separated from the power, strength and portion belonging to my, David's, hating adversaries and foes”, “and from them that persecute me” or “and apart and separate from the people who harass, me, David, with hostile intent”. David appealed to Jehovah God to rescue him from the power of the adversaries who hated and harassed him.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew every experience and occasion that came into his life was within the power of Jehovah God, therefore, he could easily ask God to rescue him from people who hated and harassed him. Being in a relationship with God through His Son Jesus does not exempt us from difficult people or “times”, but as we go through them, we can have confidence and trust that Jehovah God will be with us in them. Let all praise and glory be to Jehovah God for His willingness to be with us at all times and who will snatch us away from the power of those who oppose us.

Next time David says to Jehovah God, Make your face to shine upon your servant, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
