Jesus in the Father and Jesus in You - John 14:20

The apostle John wrote how Jesus said, I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also”, and in chapter fourteen and verse twenty of his book John shared how Jesus told His disciples, “you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me”, where we read:

At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

The verse reads,At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, ... John began with the words, “At that day” which means “at the time period when the world does not see Jesus anymore” “you shall know” or “you, disciples of Jesus, will perceive, understand, notice and discern” “that I am in my Father” which means “that I, Jesus, exist within my, Jesus', Heavenly Father God”. John shared how Jesus said His disciples would know He existed within His “Father God” at the time He would appear to the world no longer.

The verse goes on to say, ... and you in me, and I in you.John continued with the words, “and you in me” which means “and you, disciples of Jesus, within me, Jesus”, “and I in you” or “and I, Jesus, within you, disciples of Jesus”. John shared how Jesus said not only that He would “exist” within His Father God, but also His disciples would exist within Him and He likewise would be in them.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how there is an intimate relationship between Jesus and His Father God, and anyone who becomes a disciple of Jesus by believing and trusting in Him may know that He dwells within them and they within Him. God loves people, and He desires a personal and intimate relationship with whoever yields their life to His Son Jesus. When they submit to Jesus, He enters them and they enter Him in an intimate way, and they carry out their lives with Jesus living inside. Those who are wise surrender to Jesus and His Father God who desire to live within them.

Next time John shares how Jesus says, “he that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
