The Father Loves Jesus' Disciples - John 16:27

The apostle John wrote how Jesus told His disciples, the time comes, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. At that day you shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you”, and in chapter sixteen and verse twenty-seven of his book John shared how Jesus told His disciples, “the Father himself loves you” where we read:

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me,

and have believed that I came out from God.

The verse reads,For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, ... John began with the word, “For the Father himself” which means “because, since and on account that the Heavenly Father God His own self” “loves you” or “is fond of, has affection for and sanctions you, disciples of Jesus”, “because you have loved me” which means “since and on account that you, disciples of Jesus, are fond of, have affection for and sanction me, Jesus”. John shared how Jesus told His disciples His Heavenly Father “has fondness and affection” for them in the same manner as they were “fond of and had affection” for Him.

The verse continues, ... and have believed that I came out from God. John added the words, “and have believed” or “and have trusted, relied upon, clung to and had confidence” “that I came out” which means “that I, Jesus, arose and appeared” “from God” or “apart from the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. John shared how Jesus told His disciples not only did the Heavenly Father “love” them because they “loved” Him, but also because they “trusted in and relied upon” the fact that Jesus appeared from “God”.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus told His disciples they were “loved” by the Heavenly Father because they “loved” Him, and they also “trusted” that Jesus came from God Himself. God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for their sins which separated them from a relationship with God. When they yield their lives to Jesus, He will forgive their sins and grant them everlasting life. God “demonstrated” His love toward mankind “while they were yet sinners” because His Son Jesus “Christ died for them”. (See Romans 5:8) Let all who read these words “love” and “believe” Jesus and experience the “love” of the Heavenly Father God as well.

Next time John shares how Jesus tells His disciples, “I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
