Jehovah God's Anger and Favor - Psalms 30:5

In Psalms chapter thirty David said, “Sing unto the LORD, O you saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness”, and in chapter thirty and verse five of Psalms David said, “His anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life”, where we read,

For his anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life:

weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

The verse begins, For his anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life:” David began with the words, “For his anger” which means “because, since and on account that his, Jehovah God's, nostrils, nose and face depicting ire and wrath” “endures but a moment” or “lasts, stands and continues for an instant, suddenly or a small amount of time”; “in his favor” which means “within his, Jehovah God's, pleasure, delight, goodwill and desire” “is life” or “exists living, active sustenance and maintenance”. David declared that Jehovah God's “wrath and ire” only lasts for an instant, and within His goodwill, pleasure and delight is active living.

The verse goes on to say, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. David continued with the words, “weeping may endure” or “overflowing, dripping and continual crying in anguish might last or continue” “for a night” which means “throughout an evening, sunset or nighttime”, “but joy comes in the morning” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover singing, rejoicing, gladness, proclamation, shouting and triumph arises and appears within the break of day, daylight and sunrise”. David wrote how “overflowing and continual crying” may last throughout the nighttime, but rejoicing and gladness will appear at the break of day.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through David how Jehovah God does not continue in “anger” because there is “life” within His goodwill and pleasure. There will be times of “overwhelming crying” during the nighttime, but when we put our faith in God, the morning sunrise will bring rejoicing and gladness to us. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (See John 16:33), and we are wise to keep our focus upon Jehovah God when difficulties arise. God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with God. There will be suffering, trials, temptations and difficulties in our earthly lives, but we have the promise of God's resurrection that will overcome any troubles we endure.

Next time David says, in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
