In Psalms chapter thirty seven David said, “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree”, and in chapter thirty seven and verse thirty-six of Psalms David said, “Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not” where we read,
Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
The verse begins, “Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not:” David began with the words, “Yet he passed away” or “however, even so and indeed the wicked person was carried away, alienated and done away with”, “and lo” which means “and look, observe and behold”, “he was not” or “he, the wicked person, was gone and as nothing”. David said the “wicked person” was alienated and carried away, and when one attempted to observe him, he was as nothing.
The verse continues, “yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.” David added the words, “yes, I sought him” or “even so and indeed, I, David, looked for, searched, desired and demanded the wicked person”, “but he could not be found” which means “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover he, the wicked person, was unable to be acquired, met with, encountered, recognized, discovered or detected”. David said he looked for the wicked person, but was unable to encounter, recognize or discover him.
When we think through words in this verse, we see through David how Jehovah God totally eliminated the “wicked person”, and He will eventually do so with all people who do not align with Him. (See Revelation 20:11) Although a day of judgment is coming when all people will give an account of their words, actions, deeds and attitudes, today is the day of salvation. (See 2 Corinthians 6:2) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (See John 3:16-17) Jehovah God invites everyone to believe and trust in His Son Jesus, and when we do, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Should we refuse to receive Him as our “Savior and Lord”, we will find ourselves among those whom He eliminates, and woe be to those who do not yield.
Next time David says, “mark the perfect man, and behold the upright”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
