Crying Unto the LORD - Psalms 30:8

In Psalms chapter thirty David said, “LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong: you did hide your face, and I was troubled”, and in chapter thirty and verse eight of Psalms David said, “I cried to you, O LORD”, where we read,

I cried to you, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.

The verse begins, I cried to you, O LORD;” David began with the words, “I cried to you” which means “I, David, shouted aloud, sounded and proclaimed to you, Jehovah God”, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David shared how he shouted aloud to Jehovah God.

The verse continues, and unto the LORD I made supplication. David added the words, “and unto the LORD” or “and toward Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God” “I made supplication” which means “I, David, pled for grace, favor, pity and mercy”. David wrote how he appealed to Jehovah God for His grace, mercy and favor.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David shouted aloud to Jehovah God with his intense desire for His “grace, mercy and favor”. David was “troubled” and terrified within, and he knew God's unmerited favor was how he would overcome his fears. God loves us, and He desires to be our provision and protection. We gain those benefits and forgiveness of sins when we yield ourselves to His Son Jesus as our “Savior and Lord”, and we shall spend all eternity giving Him praise, honor and glory for hearing and responding to our “supplication” for His “favor”.

Next time David asks, What profit is there in my blood?, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
