The LORD's Favor - Psalms 30:7

In Psalms chapter thirty David said, “Sing unto the LORD, O you saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endures but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved”, and in chapter thirty and verse seven of Psalms David said, “LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong”, where we read,

LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong:

you did hide your face, and I was troubled.

The verse begins, LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong:” David began with the words, “LORD, by your favor” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God, through your, Jehovah God's, pleasure, delight, goodwill and acceptance” “you have made my mountain” or “you, Jehovah God, fashioned and caused my, David's, hill or majestic mountain” “to stand strong” which means “to remain, be erect and to be upright in strength, force and might”. David said it was by the pleasure and acceptance of Jehovah God that his “majestic mountain” was strengthened and filled with might.

The verse goes on to say,you did hide your face, and I was troubled. David continued with the words, “your did hide your face” or “you, Jehovah God, closed off, concealed and kept secret your, Jehovah God's, countenance, surface or presence”, “and I was troubled” which means “and I, David, existed as disturbed, alarmed, terrified, anxious and afraid”. David wrote how he became terrified and afraid because Jehovah God concealed His presence from him.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David relied upon the “favor” or goodwill and purpose of Jehovah God, and when he believed God concealed his countenance and presence from him, he was terrified. God is omnipresent, but there are times when we feel like He is hidden from us. God loves us, and even when we are afraid, we should remember that Jesus was sent by His Father God to die on the cross for our sins. Regardless of our perception, God is for us, with us and will be with us for all eternity when we submit our lives to His Son Jesus. God has promised forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who believe and trust in His Son Jesus, and we shall forever give Him praise for His benefits and presence with us.

Next time David says, I cried to you, O LORD, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
