In Psalms chapter thirty seven David said, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread”, and in chapter thirty seven and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said the righteous person is, “ever merciful, and lends” where we read,
He is ever merciful, and lends; and his seed is blessed.
The verse begins, “He is ever merciful, and lends;” David began with the words, “He is ever merciful” or “He, the righteous person whether male or female, exists as altogether, wholly, totally and continually gracious, showing favor, and pitiful”, “and lends” which means “and enjoins, attaches can causes people to abide and borrow”. David said the righteous person is continually gracious and showing favor, and they attach themselves to others who desire to borrow and abide.
The verse continues, “and his seed is blessed.” David added the words, “and his seed” or “and the offspring, progeny and children the righteous person whether male or female” “is blessed” which means “exists as prosperous, well-fixed and well-to-do”. David said the offspring of people who are righteous exist in a prosperous and well-fixed condition.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David acknowledged the graciousness and generosity of people who are righteous, and because they manage their lives in this manner, their children are prosperous. God's desire is to have a personal, intimate relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make us “righteous” so that not only our own lives are changed, but also the lives of our children.
Next time David says, “depart from evil, and do good”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
