In Psalms chapter thirty seven David said, “The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment”, and in chapter thirty seven and verse thirty-one of Psalms David said, “the law of God is in his heart” where we read,
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
The verse begins, “The law of his God is in his heart;” David began with the words, “the law of his God” or “the direction, instruction, custom and manner of the Deuteronomic or Mosaic law of the righteous person's Divine judge, ruler and supreme God” “is in his heart” which means “exists within his, the righteous person's, inner man, mind, will, soul, knowledge, thinking, reflection, memory, inclination and determination”. David said people who are “righteous” have the instruction and direction of the Divine judge and ruler, Jehovah God, within their souls and minds.
The verse goes on to say, “none of his steps shall slide.” David continued with the words, “none of his steps” or “not a single one of the righteous person's goings” “shall slide” which means “will slip or be made to totter or shake”. David said not any of the goings of the goings of the “righteous” will be made to totter or slip.
When we consider the words in this verse, we realize through David what makes the person who is “righteous” conduct their lives in the manner they do. They have “God's law” in their souls and minds, and therefore, regardless of their circumstances or situations, their faith and trust in Him does not fail. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus, and when we submit our lives to Him and commit to His ways, we will be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and always have Him with us to guide us no matter what comes our way. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God who has given us the promise of being with us in “every step” we take before His eyes.
Next time David says, “the wicked watches the righteous”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
