Forget Not the Voice of Your Enemies - Psalms 74:23

In Psalms chapter seventy-four Asaph said, “Arise, O God, plead your own cause: remember how the foolish man reproaches you daily”, and in chapter seventy-four and verse twenty-three of Psalms Asaph said, forget not the voice of your enemieswhere we read,

Forget not the voice of your enemies:

the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually.

The verse begins, Forget not the voice of your enemies:” Asaph began with the words, “Forget not the voice” or “do not ignore or cease to care about the sound, noise and proclamation of words” “of your enemies” which means “belonging to your, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, hating foes and adversaries”. Asaph appealed to Jehovah God not to ignore or cease to care about the proclamations of His hating foes.

The verse continues, the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually.” Asaph added the words, “the tumult” or “the roar, din, crash or uproar” “of those that rise up against you” which means “belonging to the people who stand up, arise and become established and powerful” “increases continually” or “ascends, springs up and shoots forth perpetually, continuously and unto perpetuity”. Asaph referred to the roaring of the people who opposed Jehovah God and ascended perpetually and continuously.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Asaph did not want Jehovah God to ignore the clamor of His hating foes nor the uprising of the people who constantly ascended in opposition to Him. God is omniscient, and He is well aware of people who refuse to believe and trust in Him through His Son Jesus. All the while, God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and assure us that He not only knows the voice of those who speak against Him but also is aware of when they constantly arise in opposition to Him.

Next time we begin and new chapter and see Asaph say, Unto you, O God, do we give thanks, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
