Going in the Strength of the Lord GOD - Psalms 71:16

In Psalms chapter seventy-one David said to Jehovah God, “My mouth shall show forth your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof”, and in chapter seventy-one and verse sixteen of Psalms David said, “I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD” where we read,

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD:

I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours only.

The verse begins, I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: David began with the words, “I will go in the strength” or “I, David, shall be brought in, introduced and lifted up in the power, might and ability” “of the Lord GOD” which means “belonging to Adonay or the reverent Master Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said he would be brought in and lifted up in Jehovah God's power and might.

The verse goes on to say,I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours only. David continued with the words, “I will make mention” or “I, David, shall remember, recall, bring to mind and make record” “of your righteousness” which means “pertaining to your, Jehovah God's, moral rightness, justice, justification and prosperity”, “even of yours only” or “also and indeed yours, Jehovah God's, solely, separate and alone”. David said he would only remember and recall Jehovah God's moral rightness and justification.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David knew he would proceed through His life by continually being reminded of Jehovah God's power, might and ability, and he purposed to make record of God's ways alone throughout his life. David loved God because he understood and perceived the justice, rightness and prosperity which was within Him. God wants everyone to know Him, and as Jesus said, “this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (See John 17:3) When we understand Jesus was sent into the world to die on the cross for our sins and that He is willing to forgive us and grant us everlasting life if we believe and trust in Him, we can do no better than to remember, recall and make record of God alone's love for us throughout every day of our lives.

Next time David says, “O God, you have taught me from my youth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
