Those Far From God Will Perish - Psalms 73:27

In Psalms chapter seventy-three Asaph said, “My flesh and my heart fails: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever”, and in chapter seventy-three and verse twenty-seven of Psalms Asaph said, they that are far from you shall perishwhere we read,

For, lo, they that are far from you shall perish:

you have destroyed all them that go a whoring from you.

The verse begins, For, lo, they that are far from you shall perish: Asaph began with the words, “for, lo” or “because, since and on account, look, behold and consider”, “they that are far from you” which means “they, the people both male and female, who exist as removed, remote and departed from you, Divine judge Jehovah God” “shall perish” or “will vanish, be destroyed, exterminated and lost”. Asaph declared the people who have departed from the Divine judge Jehovah God will vanish, be destroyed and lost.

The verse goes on to say,you have destroyed all them that go a whoring from you. Asaph continued with the words, “you have destroyed all them” or “you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have cut off, exterminated, extirpated and terminated each, every, the whole and everyone of the people who are as follows” “that go a whoring from you” which means “who commit fornication, play the harlot and are unfaithful to you, Divine judge Jehovah God”. Asaph said Jehovah God cut off and exterminated every one of the people who have been unfaithful to Him.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how Asaph knew the people who departed from the ways of Jehovah God would be destroyed. They committed spiritual adultery as they went after other gods, and they shall be eternally lost unless they turn their lives over to Jesus who is the Savior of the world. Jesus Christ was sent into the world by His Father God to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and set us free from the judgment that is certain to fall upon everyone who departs from God's way of salvation and commits spiritual adultery against Him.

Next time Asaph says, it is good for me to draw near to God, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
