Meditating Upon God's Work - Psalms 77:12

In Psalms chapter seventy-seven Asaph said, “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember your wonders of old”, and in chapter seventy-seven and verse twelve of Psalms Asaph said, I will meditate also of all your workwhere we read,

I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings.

The verse begins, I will meditate also of all your work, ... Asaph began with the words, “I will meditate also” or “I, Asaph, shall even and indeed moan, muse, groan and imagine” “of all your work” which means “pertaining to each, every, the whole and everyone of your, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, deeds and acts”. Asaph said he would use his imagination and muse about the acts and deeds of Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,... and talk of your doings. Asaph continued with the words, “and talk” or “and speak, commune and ponder” “of your doings” which means “pertaining to your, the Divine judge Jehovah God's, deeds, practices, inventions and performances”. Asaph said he would speak about the practices and performances of Jehovah God.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how Asaph determined not only to think about the acts and deeds of Jehovah God, but also to bear testimony to the practices and inventions of Him. Remembering who God is and what He has done is a wonderful way to bring ourselves out of depression and oppressive thinking. God is an Almighty, Creator and loving God, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for our sins which separated us from Him, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring to our remembrance who He is and what He has done so that we will tell others about His wonderful works toward mankind.

Next time Asaph says, Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
