In Psalms chapter seventy-seven Asaph said, “The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled”, and in chapter seventy-seven and verse seventeen of Psalms Asaph said, “the clouds poured out water” where we read,
The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: your arrows also went abroad.
The verse begins, “The clouds poured out water:” Asaph began with the words, “the clouds” or “the darkness, thicket or cloudy mass with density” “poured out water” which means “moved and dispatched floods of water”. Asaph said the dark thicket of the clouds dispatched floods of water.
The verse continues, “the skies sent out a sound: your arrows also went abroad.” Asaph added the words, “the skies sent out a sound” or “the vapor, firmament or heavens gave, delivered and produced a loud, bleating and crackling sound like thunder”: “your arrows” which means “your, Jehovah God's, gravel stones cut into arrow shapes” “also went abroad” or “even so and indeed departed, traversed and walked away”. Asaph referred to the thunder and lightning in the “skies” that was dispatched by Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Asaph mentioned the power of Jehovah God demonstrated within the “skies”. Thunder and lightning speak to the power and might of Almighty God, and whenever we take note of them, we should remember His strength is available to us. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us eternal life and dispatch His power for us according to His Divine purpose and plan. Let us give praise, honor and glory to the God of the wonders in the skies and the One who loves us enough to invite us to be in a relationship with Him.
Next time Asaph says, “the voice of your thunder was in the heaven”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
