Calling the Heavens Above - Psalms 50:4

In Psalms chapter fifty Asaph said, Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him”, and in chapter fifty and verse four of Psalms Asaph said, “He shall call to the heavens from above” where we read,

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

The verse begins, He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, ...” Asaph began with the words, “He shall call to the heavens” or “He, the Divine judge Jehovah God will utter a loud sound, summon, invite and cry out” “from above” which means “apart and separate from on high and upwards”, “and to the earth” or “and toward the land, country, territory, district, region and world”. Asaph said the Divine judge and ruler Jehovah God would cry out to the heavens above and to the earth beneath for the following reason.

The verse continues, “... that he may judge his people.” Asaph added the words, “that he may judge” or “so he, Jehovah God, might plead, contend and minister judgment toward” “his people” which means “his, Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female”. Asaph said Jehovah God would cry out to the heavens above and the earth beneath so He might contend and bring justice to His human beings.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Asaph recognized Jehovah God's desire for all people to hear His voice as He invited them to have a personal relationship with Him. God loves people, and because their sins separated them from Him, He sent His Son Jesus to die on their cross for their errors, mistakes and willful transgressions. When we rely upon, cling to and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. We should pay attention to the cry and invitation of Jehovah God and yield to His Son Jesus and fulfill His desire to be with us forever.

Next time Asaph says,Gather my saints together unto me, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
