Salvation Out of Zion - Psalms 53:6

In Psalms chapter fifty three David asked, “Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God has scattered the bones of him that encamps against you: you have put them to shame, because God has despised them”, and in chapter fifty-three and verse six of Psalms David said, “Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion”, where we read,

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

The verse begins, Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!” David began with the words, “oh that the salvation” or “O grant, bestow, constitute, employ and assign the deliverance, welfare and prosperity” “of Israel” which means “belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and was the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob” “were come out of Zion” or “would arise and appear from Zion whose name means parched place and was another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. David desired with exclamation that deliverance and prosperity would arise out of “Jerusalem”.

The verse continues,When God brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.” David added the words, “when God” or “at the time and moment the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “brings back the captivity” which means “turns back and returns the captives or prisoners who were in exile to a former state of prosperity” “of his people” or “pertaining to the Divine judge Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female”, “Jacob shall rejoice” which means “Jacob whose name means heel holder or supplanter and the was son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham, and father of the twelve patriarchs of the tribes of Israel”, “and Israel shall be glad” or “and Israel whose name means God prevails and was the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob will cheer up, rejoice and be joyful”. David said at the time and moment Jehovah God returns the captives to a state of prosperity, both “Jacob” and “Israel” would celebrate and rejoice.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David concluded this psalm with a desire for Jehovah God to return his people back to their state of prosperity and joy. Rather than be like the foolish people who do not believe in and say no to God, David wanted the people of Israel to rely upon, cling to and trust in Jehovah. God desires this kind of relationship with every person, and because He loves everybody, He sent His Son Jesus, “the salvation of Israel and the world”, to die for the sins of all mankind. Anyone who puts their faith and trust in Jesus will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life with God and enjoy His prosperity throughout eternity. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for providing a way that we may live prosperously and cheerfully with them forever.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me by your strength”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
