God Looked Down From Heaven - Psalms 53:2

In Psalms chapter fifty three David said, “The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good”, and in chapter fifty-three and verse two of Psalms David told how, “God looked down from heaven upon the children of men”, where we read,

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men,

to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

The verse begins, God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, ...” David began with the words, “God looked down” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God leaned over to observe, peep or gaze” “from heaven” which means “from the celestial abode of God” “upon the children of men” or “on the offspring and progeny belonging to people both male and female”. David said Jehovah God put His gaze upon the offspring of people from His celestial abode.

The verse continues, “... to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.” David added the words, “to see” or “to behold, observe, inspect, perceive and consider” “if there were any” which means “whether and in case there existed a person” “that did understand” or “who was circumspect, prudent, gave attention to and considered”, “that did seek God” which means “who resorted to, inquired of and consulted the Divine judge Jehovah God”. David said the reason “God looked down from heaven” was to observe whether there existed anyone who was prudent, gave attention to, consulted with and inquired of Him.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David described God's interest in mankind. He gazed upon them to discover whether anyone would perceive Him and desire to consult with Him. God loves us, and He is constantly concerned with our life and choices. He gave His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us be aware that God is looking down upon us, and when we surrender our lives to Him, we will have fulfilled His purpose and plan for our redemption and constant consulting with Him.

Next time David says, every one of them is gone back, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
