Then I Will Teach Transgressors - Psalms 51:13

In Psalms chapter fifty one David told God, “Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit”, and in chapter fifty-one and verse thirteen of Psalms David told God, “then will I teach transgressors your ways”, where we read,

Then will I teach transgressors your ways; and sinners shall be converted unto you.

The verse begins, Then will I teach transgressors your ways;” David began with the words, “then will I teach transgressors” or “at that time shall I, David, exercise and instruct rebels, revolters, quarrelers and trespassers” “your ways” which means “your, Jehovah God's, journey, manner, habit and course of life”. David told Jehovah God after He “restored” to him the “joy” of His “salvation” and supported him with His “willing and generous” Holy Spirit, he would instruct people who are rebels, revolters and trespassers God's manner and course of life.

The verse continues, and sinners shall be converted unto you.” David added the words, “and sinners” or “and sinful people and those exposed to condemnation and reckoned as offenders” “shall be converted” which means “will be turned back, restored and refreshed” “unto you” or “toward you, Jehovah God”. David said people who commit errors, wrongs and transgressions would be restored and refreshed in their relationship with Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David believed he could instruct sinful people in the ways of God which would result in their conversion to a relationship with Him. David first needed Jehovah God to forgive him, cleanse him, accompany and support him even though he sinned greatly, and then he would teach others. God desires to do the same for every person who surrenders to His Son Jesus, and when we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and yield to Jesus, we will be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with God. In other words, we need cleansing and forgiveness before we tell others about the ways of God. God loves us, and He wants to to have an intimate relationship with Him. When we submit to Jesus and are cleansed, we shall instruct people who need to be “converted” in the way to have relationship with Him forever.

Next time David tells God, “deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
