Deliver Me from Bloodguiltiness - Psalms 51:14

In Psalms chapter fifty one David told God, “Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors your ways; and sinners shall be converted unto you”, and in chapter fifty-one and verse fourteen of Psalms David told God, “deliver me from bloodguiltiness”, where we read,

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, you God of my salvation:

and my tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

The verse begins, Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, you God of my salvation:” David began with the words, “deliver me” or “rescue and save me, David” “from bloodguiliness” which means “apart and separate from bloodshed”, “O God” or “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “you God of my salvation” which means “you, Jehovah God, the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God pertaining to my, David's, deliverance, help, safety and victory”. David appealed to Jehovah God who was his Divine judge and ruler to rescue him from bloodshed.

The verse goes on to say,and my tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.” David continued with the words, “and my tongue” or “and my, David's, wedge in his mouth used for speaking” “shall sing aloud” which means “will cry out, give a ringing shout of joy in exaltation and praise” “of your righteousness” or “pertaining to your, Jehovah God the Divine judge's, rightness, justice, truthfulness and justification”. David said he would use the tongue in his mouth to give a ringing shout of joy pertaining to the justice and truthfulness of Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David desired the rescue and deliverance from bloodshed by Jehovah God whom he considered to be his “Divine judge and ruler”. This would result in David using his “tongue” to shout out in songs of exaltation and praise to God. David not only committed adultery with Bathsheba, but he also ordered the murder of her husband Uriah. Although it appeared to many others that Uriah died in battle alone, it was David who ordered the withdraw of troops surrounding him so he would die. (See 2 Samuel 11:15-17) Every person needs rescue, deliverance and salvation from Jehovah God , and this is why He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Sin separates people from God, and without the removal of that sin, every person would be doomed for all eternity. God loves us, and He wants us to believe and trust in His Son Jesus so we can be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let all rejoicing and exaltation be to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for His provision of deliverance through His righteousness regardless of the sins and bloodshed we have caused in our past.

Next time David tells God, “O Lord, open you my lips”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
