Out of Zion God has Shined - Psalms 50:2

In Psalms chapter fifty Asaph said, “The mighty God, even the LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof”, and in chapter fifty and verse two of Psalms Asaph said, “Out of Zion … God has shined” where we read,

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined.

The verse begins, Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, ...” Asaph began with the words, “Out of Zion” or “From Zion, whose name means parched place and was another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”, “the perfection of beauty” which means “the completeness pertaining to absolute stunning visual appearance”. Asaph referred to “Zion” or Jerusalem and it's stunning appearance to share what he declares next.

The verse continues, “... God has shined.” Asaph added the word, “God” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “has shined” which means “has showed Himself and sent out beams”. Asaph said the Divine judge and ruler, Jehovah God, has shown Himself like an illuminated beam of light.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Asaph recognized Jerusalem to be where Jehovah God illuminated Himself. Asaph knew Jerusalem was a special place of “beauty”, and God chose “Zion” to be the place where He would manifest Himself. God loves people, and He desires to have a personal relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus to the world to die for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “shine” upon us with His protection, provision, mercy and grace.

Next time Asaph says,Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
