In Great Fear Where No Fear Was - Psalms 53:5

In Psalms chapter fifty three David asked, “Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God”, and in chapter fifty-three and verse five of Psalms David said, “there were they in great fear, where no fear was”, where we read,

There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God has scattered the bones of him that encamps against you: you have put them to shame, because God has despised them.

The verse begins, There were they in great fear, where no fear was:” David began with the words, “there were they” or “the position of the workers of iniquity existed” “in great fear” which means “in exceeding terror, dread and alarm”, “where no fear was” or “in the place and location that no terror, dread or alarm existed”. David said the people who commit wickedness and evil were in exceeding terror and alarm where no terror and alarm existed.

The verse goes on to say,for God has scattered the bones of him that encamps against you:” David continued with the words, “for God has scattered” or “because, since and on account that the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God Jehovah dispersed and spread abroad” “the bones of him” which means “the essence, substance and body limbs and members belonging to the person whether male or female” “that encamps against you” or “who inclines, lays siege and pitches a tent in opposition to you, people who commit iniquity”. David said Jehovah God has spread abroad the essence and substance of the people who commit wickedness and lay siege in opposition to them.

Finally the verse says, you have put them to shame, because God has despised them.” David finished this verse by saying, “you have put them” or “you, people who commit iniquities, have disgraced, disconcerted and disappointed the people who commit wickedness” “to shame” which means “to exist as ashamed, disconcerted and disappointed”, “because God” or “since and on account that the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “has despised them” which means “has rejected, refused and disdained the people who are the enemies of the people who commit iniquity”. David said Jehovah God disgraced and disconcerted the people who commit wickedness and were as enemies in opposition to His people because He rejected and disdained them.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David referred to the anxiety that people who commit evil suffer even through there is nothing to fear. God came to the defense of His people even when they did not deserve it. Jehovah God spread the enemy's essence away from Him because He disgraced, disappointed and rejected them. This is the fate of every person who resists Jehovah God's invitation to receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Every person will give account of themselves before God, and they will either hear God say, “Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord” (See Matthew 25:41) or “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” (See Matthew 25:41) We have no need to fear, because God wants us to receive His Son Jesus, and when we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and come against any enemy that rises up in opposition to Him.

Next time David says, “Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
