God Will Reward Enemies - Psalms 54:5

In Psalms chapter fifty four David said, “Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul”, and in chapter fifty-four and verse five of Psalms David said God, “shall reward evil unto my enemies”, where we read,

He shall reward evil unto my enemies: cut them off in your truth.

The verse begins, He shall reward evil unto my enemies:” David began with the words, “He shall reward evil” or “He, the Divine judge Jehovah God will return, turn back and render consequences of bad, disagreeableness, malignancy and unpleasantness” “unto my enemies” which means “to my, David's, hating adversaries and foes”. David said Jehovah God would return unpleasantness and malignancy to his hating foes.

The verse goes on to say,cut them off in your truth.” David continued with the words, “cut them off” or “put to an end, terminate, exterminate and annihilate them, David's enemies” “in your truth” which means “within your, Jehovah God's, firmness, faithfulness, stability, continuance and reliability”. David appealed to Jehovah God to terminate his enemies with His faithfulness and reliability.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God would avenge him of his enemies. God says, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay says the Lord” (See Isaiah 63:4 and Romans 12:19), and we can do no better than to turn our foes over to Him. God loves us, and He gave His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of the world. Anyone who comes to Him will be forgiven of their sins, granted everlasting life with God and will find Him to be a reliable and faithful source of “truth” for anyone who arises in opposition to them.

Next time David says, “I will freely sacrifice unto you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
