In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said, “they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yes, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD. I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased”, and in chapter ten and verse nine of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “I will will sow them among the people” where we read,
And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries;
and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
The verse reads, “And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries;” Zechariah began with the words, “and I will sow them” or “and I, Jehovah God, shall scatter, disseminate and plant them, the people of Ephraim and Israel” “among the people” which means “in the midst and middle of the human beings both male and female”: “and they shall remember me” or “and they, the people, will recall, bring to mind and have memory of me, Jehovah God” “in far countries” which means “within distance and foreign places”. Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said He would disperse the people of Ephraim or Israel in the midst of the human race, and people within foreign countries would recall who He is.
The verse goes on to say, “and they shall live with their children, and turn again.” Zechariah continued with the words, “and they shall live” or “and they, the people of Ephraim or Israel, will have life, be quickened, alive and restored” “with their children” which means “alongside and accompanied by their, the people of Ephraim or Israel's, offspring and progeny”, “and turn again” or “and return another time”. Zechariah shared how the people of Ephraim or Israel will abide accompanied by their offspring and return to them another time.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover through Zechariah how Jehovah God would scatter His people Israel throughout the world, and the nations to which they were spread would recall who He is even though they are a great distance away. They would be accompanied by their offspring and return to their homeland another time. This is exactly what happened in 1948 when the people of Israel returned to their country after being spread throughout the world. The world became aware of who God is, and when the people of Israel came back with their “children” to their homeland, the world was cognizant of the great influence behind them. God's desire is for the world to know Him as their personal “Savior and Lord”, and because He loves everyone, He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow people both near and far to know the saving grace of Jehovah God through Jesus Christ His Son.
Next time Zechariah shares how Jehovah God says, “I will bring them again out of the land of Egypt”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
