Strengthened in the LORD - Zechariah 10:12

In the book of Zechariah, Zechariah shared how Jehovah God said of Israel, “I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart away”, and in chapter ten and verse twelve of Zechariah, Zechariah said, “I will strengthen them in the LORD” where we read,

And I will strengthen them in the LORD;

and they shall walk up and down in his name, says the LORD.

The verse reads, And I will strengthen them in the LORD; Zechariah began with the words, “and I will strengthen them” or “and I, Jehovah God, shall make the people of Ephraim or Israel mighty, great and exceedingly strong” “in the LORD” which means “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. Zechariah shared how Jehovah God would make the people of Ephraim or Israel powerful and strong in Him.

The verse continues, “and they shall walk up and down in his name, says the LORD. Zechariah added the words, “and they shall walk up and down” or “and they, the people of Ephraim or Israel, will amble about and make their way wherever they desire” “in his name”  which means “within his, Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory”, “says the LORD” or “utters, declares and proclaims Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”.Zechariah shared how the people of Israel would make their way wherever they wished within the fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Zechariah how Jehovah God would make the people of Israel powerful within His fame, reputation and glory, and this would allow them to move about wherever they wanted to go. God loves the people of Israel, and He provides for and protects them. He loves us too, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross to pay the price for the sins of all mankind. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to live before His eyes and within His “name” wherever He leads us in this world.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see Zechariah say, “open your doors, O Lebanon”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
